Winona Health’s Marketing Communications Department received a Healthcare Advertising Award for its 2010 annual report. From 4000 entries, Winona Health received a Merit award in the Hospitals under 299 Bed Category. The awards were sponsored by the Healthcare Marketing Report, and a national panel of marketing experts judged the entries based on quality, creativity and message effectiveness.

“This is especially gratifying as we accomplished this with in-house talent versus the services of a graphic design studio or healthcare marketing company, which is the case for more than 90% of the award entrants,” said Betsy Midthun, Winona Health chief communications officer. “Congratulations to my team. We are all very pleased to be recognized for our work on this annual publication.”

Winona Health 2010 annual report: Behind the Scenes, took a photojournalism approach to depicting a typical day in various areas throughout Winona Health. “It was a representative snapshot of the many events that happen here throughout the day,” said Midthun.

Lead by Midthun, the publication’s team included Winona Health’s Marketing Communications Department and Winona State University student photographers under the direction of James A. Bowey, assistant professor of photography and new media at Winona State University.

The annual report was delivered to area households earlier this year. To request a copy, call Winona Health at 507.454.3650 or send your name and address to info@winonahealth.org. The publication also can be viewed on the Winona Health website by clicking on “about us” then “publications.”
