WSU Health Promotion Mental Health Needs Survey

Winona State University Health Promotion project: Mental Health Needs Survey

Winona State University Health Promotion students in the Program Planning course are working with Winona Health on a mental health access project. The goal of the project is collect data to further efforts to improve access to mental health resources and services in Winona County.

The project stems from the Community Health Needs Assessment completed in 2013 by Winona Health in collaboration with Winona County Public Health. Based on data from that assessment, mental health was determined to be one of the top three community health priorities.

Using the Community Health Needs Assessment as a resource, the students created a survey to further understand mental health needs in Winona County. If the response to their survey is statistically significant, the data could be used by collaborating organizations to improve access to services and increase mental health awareness and education in Winona County.

The students invite all Winona County residents to participate in the survey. There are no appreciable risks or benefits to participating in the study. The original survey deadline has been extended through April 30, 2014. Completing the survey takes approximately 10 minutes : Mental Health Needs Survey
