Winona Health will host a free Community Health Talk: Connecting Diabetes and Heart Disease, Wednesday, January 20, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Winona Health's B.A. Miller Auditorium, 855 Mankato Avenue.

Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and usually appears in adults, often in middle age. It's a serious and growing disease for men and women and it is occurring in people at younger ages. You'll learn about the relationship between diabetes and heart disease and how to work on the prevention of both.

Winona Health dietitians and Sue Haug, RD, LD, and Jill O'Donnell, RN, CDE, will provide information about risk factors for heart disease and type 2 diabetes, such as family history, They'll also provide answers to your questions
