The Winona Health Auxiliary is now accepting applications for Carol Hill Scholarships for the 2010-2011 school year. Applications will be accepted through March 19, 2010.

Successful applicants must be accepted or contingent upon acceptance into an accredited healthcare educational program for Fall Semester 2010. Applicants also must be a permanent resident of the Winona Health service region or be working at Winona Health. Individual scholarship awards will be made in amounts of at least $500, and up to a total of $20,000 will be awarded.

The scholarship is named for Carol Hill, retired director of Winona Health Volunteer Services, in honor of her long-standing service to the Winona Health Auxiliary.

Application forms are available online at winonahealth.org or in the Foundation/Volunteer Services Office at Winona Health, 855 Mankato Avenue, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or by calling 507.474.3328 to request an application.

Scholarship funds are raised through Auxiliary fundraising events such as the Birthday Ball and Holiday Happiness, along with sales from the Glady D. Miller Gift Shop at Winona Health. Since the Auxiliary awarded its first nursing scholarship in 1962, more than $451,000 has been awarded. Anyone wishing more information about the Auxiliary may contact Winona Health's Volunteer Services office at 507.474.3328.
