Admitting Coordinator

The Registration representative is responsible for registering patients for hospital services (inpatients, emergency room patients, and outpatient diagnostic center) and clinic services. This position is responsible for greeting patients, obtain accurate demographcis/insurance information and accurately enter into software systemand collect co-pay/co-insurance amount. Additionally in the clinic setting, answering phones, scheduling appointments, file, making certain scheduling of appointments are accurate. Revising of physicians computerized appointment schedules on an as needed basis, reflecting call schedules, meeting, etc.

Essential Skills: High school/GED/equivalent. The candidate should have excellent data entry skills, excellent customer relations, telephone operation and ettiquite, and communication skills are a must. The candidate will also be required to work alone while handling multiple requests. Basic computer skills. Word. Excel. Outlook. Patient information database (Cerner, EMR, American Data). Familiar with Information Technology Systems.

Nonessential Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful but not required. Previous experience is helpful but not required.
