I was eager to return to WH two years ago (after being gone for 20 years) because I had made so many friends, professionally and socially, and it seemed like a natural fit. It was very easy to get back into a facility that embraced me with a positive and warm feeling.
I really have been fortunate to have a wonderful Rehab Department to work with because there are many different ideas and approaches in our treatment care.I have a very caring and intelligent group of therapists to learn from. Everyone has been very friendly, helpful, supportive and positive with my move back to Winona Health.
My job rewards me daily with people that look to me for help and guidance in the midst of their problems, illnesses and injuries.
I’ve had lots of patients who have made remarkable recoveries, not necessarily due to me, but due to the bond and trust that is established with therapist and patient. My most memorable is with a gentleman who underwent surgery to remove a massive tumor, which left him paralyzed in one leg. Through his persistence, patience and positive attitude, he is now back to running, which is his lifelong passion.
