Playing it safe: Concussions in youth sports

If your children are involved in sports, you already may know some of the risks associated with head injuries. Concussions are one of the most common sports injuries and they can be serious. Winona State University instructor and Winona Health certified athletic trainer, Nora Kraemer, along with Winona Health certified athletic trainer Judi Tekautz will discuss what a concussion is, when it can become serious and steps to take if you suspect your child has one. Attendees also will learn about guidelines to return to play and sports safety information.
