LEAN Efforts – Improved Patient Care

Winona Health utilizes Lean concepts into the improvement process to critique its work system and/or processes and control costs.  Lean concepts incorporate the identification of wastes within work systems. Wastes such as rework, waiting time, work flow of staff, transportation issues, inventory, over-production, and un-needed processes contribute to increased cost to the organization. Targeted improvements to seek to eliminate or reduce waste, thereby managing costs.
