Did you know that Winona Health provides state-of-the-art chemotherapy services right here on campus?

Located on the first floor of Winona Health in Internal Medicine, the Chemotherapy and Infusion Department specializes in the administration of intravenous medications including chemotherapy, hydration, antibiotics, iron and maintenance therapies (such as Remicade or Boniva), as well as phlebotomy.

"People often assume that they have to go out of town to receive care," Nurse Manager Raydene Konkel said. "Weather conditions, medication tolerance levels and travel distances are all considerations that encourage utilizing our local services rather than spending time and money to travel out of town, for services we can provide."

The department serves the adult population and manages the screening process for all patients needing chemotherapy or infusion services.

Infusion/Chemotherapy is staffed by Dr. Richard Ferris, Oncologist and two registered nurses certified in oncology nursing care, as well as other Winona Health Services providers.
