Emergency Care
Winona Health has a 24 hour-a-day Emergency Care department staffed by dedicated Emergency Care physicians, registered nurses and support staff.
Specialty physicians are on-call for the Emergency Care department and respond at the request of the Emergency Care physician.
All age groups are served at Winona Health hospital’s Emergency Care, and no patient is denied treatment.
Services include:
- Initial triage and assessment
- Urgent and emergency care for illness injury and trauma
- Stabilization for transport to tertiary treatment centers
- Acute psychiatric evaluation and stabilization
- Referral to other levels of care, including hospital admission
In addition, Emergency Care has a decontamination area for use in the event of a chemical emergency.
Our registered nurses are trained in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Trauma Nursing and Pediatric Emergencies.
