Scholarships for high school seniors: Applications due March 15.

Through the generosity of anonymous donors, Winona Health is able to offer scholarships to qualified applicants seeking a career in a healthcare-related field. The Winona Health Post-Secondary Scholarship Program was established to provide graduating high school seniors with financial assistance to pursue a health-related career.

“Communities are facing an ever-greater need for high-quality healthcare providers, and these scholarships will help students interested in healthcare reach their goals.” said Betsy Midthun, VP of Community Engagement at Winona Health. “Winona is fortunate to have generous donors committed to supporting area students and local healthcare services.”

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Winona Health Scholarship Program Committee based on their demonstration of the program standards which include:

• a strong motivation to pursue a healthcare career

• academic excellence

• a dedication to community service

• a demonstrated need of financial support for their college education

Additionally, students must be enrolled in an accredited institution in a program of study that prepares them for a career in health care. Examples of qualifying degree programs include, but are not limited to pre-medicine, nursing, public/community health, physical therapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy, biology, chemistry, psychology, social work, dentistry, and optometry.

Applications will be accepted through Friday, March 15. Please note that applications received after that date, or not fully completed, will be ineligible. Awardees will be notified by May 10.
