Optometrist Stephanie LaLiberte (pronounced La Liberty), said she became interested in optometry after going on mission trips to Lima, Peru with her Dad who is an optometrist. She said, “What caught my interest was observing people put on a pair of glasses and actually seeing for the first time. It was life-changing.” She discovered a special interest in pediatric optometry while at a rotation with Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
“The first time I heard about Winona Health was from two of my patients while I was doing rotations at the VA. They said it was a great place and encouraged me to check it out,” said Dr. LaLiberte. “I chose Winona Health because everyone I’ve talked to who works here absolutely loves it. I’ve always wanted to work in a healthcare setting where there is a sense of community and you can develop lasting relationships.”
Dr. LaLiberte received her Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. She is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and the Minnesota State Board of Optometry.
In her free time, Dr. LaLiberte enjoys working out, a wide variety of sports and outdoor activities.
