Welcome Laura Zeamer, PA-C!

Laura Zeamer, a certified physician assistant (PA-C), has joined the Winona Health staff and cares for patients as a physician assistant hospitalist.

Hospitalists specialize in caring for hospitalized patients, providing around-the-clock care and working closely with nursing staff and each patient’s primary physician. Hospitalists work with care coordination teams, which include nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, respiratory and physical therapists, social workers and other specialty care staff.

Zeamer said, “I chose Winona Health because I fell in love with Winona when I was deciding where to go to school, and the close-knit atmosphere of the community hospital and clinic is a perfect fit for me. It’s nice when you really get to know someone as a person — not just by their diagnosis. The staff is very welcoming, and many have been here a long time and love their job — that speaks volumes.”

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Winona State University, Zeamer earned her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Gundersen-Mayo Clinic Physician Assistant Program. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Minnesota Academy of Physician Assistants.

Zeamer is originally from Jackson, Wis., which is northwest of Milwaukee. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside and walking her dog. She played volleyball in college at Winona State and still enjoys playing, and she also enjoys circuit training. As a volunteer, she served as a Team Captain for Relay for Life from 2013 to 2016.
