Free Depression Screening Thursday, October 5, 2017

Winona Health is offering free walk-in depression screening on National Depression Screening Day, Thursday, October 5, 2017, during the following times:

  • Screening available for adolescents: 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Screening available for adults: 1 – 4:30 p.m.

Screening will be on the second floor of the Parkview Office Building (adjacent to the hospital), 825 Mankato Avenue in Winona, Minn.

One out of every five adults may experience depression at some point in their lives. Depression is treatable and help is available at Winona Health.

People who have any of the following symptoms of depression are encouraged to come in for screening:

  • A persistent feeling of sadness
  • Loss of pleasure in usually enjoyable activities
  • A feeling of hopelessness, helplessness and worthlessness
  • Changes in sleep patterns and appetite
  • Loss of energy
  • Restlessness
  • Thoughts of death or suicide

Those interested may call to reserve a screening time or just walk in. The screening process will take approximately 30 minutes for a brief questionnaire and a meeting with a therapist.
