Benevolence & Blues is January 26 – RSVP today!

You’re invited!

The Winona Health Foundation invites community members to the annual ‘Benevolence & Blues’ Friday, January 26 at Visions Event Center at Signatures, 22852 County Road 17 in Winona.

“Benevolence and Blues is a fun opportunity to get out with your family, friends and neighbors to celebrate generosity and enjoy blues music and delicious barbeque,” said Betsy Midthun, Winona Health vice president of Community Engagement. “We get so many positive comments about this uplifting event. It’s the perfect way to beat the winter blues—you’ll be glad you came.”

Join us in recognizing people and stories that highlight generosity in our community:

  • Amy Boutelle – A Certified Nursing Assistant/Trained Medication Assistant at Lake Winona Manor, Amy has donated her time, talent and treasures to individually crochet items for grateful residents.
  • Knitted Knockers – Knitted what? Gloria Siewert’s visit with a friend started a new Winona Health Volunteer service that is helping breast cancer survivors in the Winona region.
  • The Phyllis McClenathan Nursing Scholarship – Dean McClenathan, in memory of his wife Phyllis, established an endowment within the Winona Health Foundation to fund an annual $1,000 scholarship for a nursing student entering their last year of study.
  • Conservative Management Clinic – In response to the national drug overdose epidemic, Winona Health developed the Conservative Management Clinic (CMC) in 2015 to help patients on pain medication get the best treatment for their needs. Under the management of Dr. Daniel Parker, Dr. Al Beguin and team, the CMC has successfully helped many patients decrease pain and improve their quality of life.

“It’s a come-as-you’re-comfortable event,” added Midthun. “Wear your favorite blues—whether that means blue jeans, a blue dress, blue tie, blue scrubs or blue suede shoes.”

Enjoy BBQ pork ribs, green beans with bacon and onions, sweet potato fingerlings, corn muffins and butter, coleslaw, bread and butter pickles, dessert and coffee.
