Winona Health, one of the nation’s Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals, is celebrating 125 years in 2019. That means Winona Health has been taking care of moms-to-be in our community since 1894.
The Winona Health Physical Therapy team is offering a new program called Strong Mommas open to all women who are pregnant regardless of where they receive prenatal care.
The program is a mother’s guide to staying fit during pregnancy, preparing the body for childbirth and preventing pain.
“We are excited to provide information and share techniques that will help women feel more confident, safe and healthy throughout their pregnancy and after,” said Leah Winecke, DPT, who, along with Cindy Teske, PT, will lead the class.
Strong Mommas is a 90-minute program offered three times a year. The first Strong Mommas program will be Tuesday, March 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The class is held on the third floor of the clinic at Winona Health. Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat if they have one.
Other 2019 Strong Mommas program options are Tuesday, June 18 and Tuesday, September 17.
The cost is $10. Space is limited so registration is required. To register, call the Winona Health Women’s Health Clinic at 507.457.7701.
