I am writing this letter to praise many of your staff and to thank you for an excellent experience both my wife and I had at your medical center Emergency room.
My wife experienced a fall off our motor home stairs while staying at an RV park on the other side of the river in Wisconsin. Out from this small RV park came pouring resources to assist us. An EMT volunteer group was there in a flash elevating and immobilizing the ankle. Mary Lou, your head nurse for the Emergency Room and a real star, happened to take the 911 call and being in the area, started the treatment process while awaiting the Winona Area Ambulance to arrive. Shaun Berhow, EMT, and Brad Priem, Paramedic, staffed the ambulance and took great care of my wife; very professional. Mary Lou called the ER and let them know we were on our way and briefed the staff as to what to expect. Upon arrival, Dr. Joe Koo, DO, and his x-ray and nursing staff went to work. We received first class treatment from start to finish by all involved.
My wife and I have been in the health care profession all our professional lives and know that no ER visit is enjoyable; however, your ER staff was very reassuring, thorough and caring throughout the treatment process. This is not faint praise, rather an event that needs telling that underscores everything we in the healthcare profession strive to achieve. We very much appreciate your care and professionalism.
