Certified Physician Assistant Jennifer Van Keulen has joined the Winona Health staff and is caring for patients of all ages in Urgent Care on the clinic first floor at Winona Health, 855 Mankato Ave., in Winona.
“I grew up in the Twin Cities and attended PA school in Miami, Florida. After graduation I knew that I wanted to return to the Midwest,” said Van Keulen. “I interviewed at Winona Health and was drawn in by the sense of community; I felt instantly welcomed by everyone I met and knew it was the right place for me. I’m looking forward to providing excellent care to the community.”
After earning degrees in biology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Van Keulen earned her Master of Clinical Medical Science, Physician Assistant, degree at Barry University in Miami, Florida. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Minnesota Academy of Physician Assistants (MAPA).
“I decided to become a physician assistant because it combines my life-long love of science with my desire to help people,” said Van Keulen. “The best part of my work is when I can see that my advice has helped people feel better or make a positive, healthy change in their lives.”
In her free time, she enjoys attending spin classes, hiking, camping, cooking, baking and spending time with friends and family.
