My 4-year-old son, Steven, loves to know how things work and why things are the way they are. He tried on my glasses and said, “Wow! Momma I can see.” I thought, oh boy let’s get in to the eye doctor. We saw Dr. Pastryk at Winona Health and had the best experience. In the exam room, Steven saw all the ‘robots’ (that’s what he called the equipment) and all the posters with pictures of eyes — he was so intrigued. He kept asking Dr. Pastryk questions. Dr. Pastryk successfully answered all his questions and, near the end of the appointment, went through, image by image, a poster about the parts of the eye and described the function of the optic nerve, pupils and more. My son still remembers what Dr. Pastryk told him and shares the fun facts with me. It was so sweet of Dr. Pastryk to take that extra time to teach such a young mind. — Amanda Every Moment Matters.
