Jan Brosnahan spent the beginning of her career as a CPA with KPMG Peat Marwick in Minneapolis, MN, then spent over 20 years in the electronics industry as the Controls Division Controller for Watlow Electric Manufacturing Company. Jan was instrumental in Watlow’s successful early adoption of lean management. She has given presentations on lean management two national Lean Accounting Summits and to a healthcare system in Finland. Her article, “Unleash the Power of Lean Accounting” was featured in the Journal of Accountancy.
Brosnahan joined Winona Health Services as their CFO in 2013, to leverage her financial and lean leadership skills with their lean management system, to help increase healthcare value and efficiency. At Winona Health, she is responsible for financial operations, patient accounting and billing services, supply chain, facilities, EVS and FNS, retail pharmacies, organizational compliance, contracts and insurance. She also provides leadership for innovation and strategic planning.
Jan has a BSBA from the University of North Dakota and holds CPA, CMA and CHFP certifications. She is married with two children and enjoys tennis, biking, traveling and music.
Brosnahan has been an active member of the Winona Community since 1989. She currently serves on the Winona Area Chamber Board of Directors, and has formerly served on the boards of the Winona Community Foundation, Winona ORC and Winona Cathedral, and as a member of the business advisory board at Winona State University.
