Kathleen Lanik, RHIT, CPHQ, Winona Health’s Vice President of Quality and Safety, is responsible for risk management, health information management, information systems, medical staff services, patient safety, facilities, compliance with accrediting agencies and participation in the Minnesota Quality Award and the Baldrige Performance Excellence program.
Before joining Winona Health, Lanik worked for St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. She began her career with Winona Health in 1975, working as a nurse in the Intensive Care Unit and the Emergency Department. She then moved into her role in Health Information Management, Utilization Review and Quality Improvement.
After attending the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota, and Winona State University, Lanik graduated from Minnesota State College with a diploma in nursing and has an associate degree in Information Management. She holds credentials in health information technology and healthcare quality. Lanik is the current board chair of the Winona County Chapter of the American Red Cross, is an evaluator for the Minnesota Quality Award program. She is on the board of directors of the Minnesota Society for Healthcare Risk Managers and is a member of the Minnesota Hospital Association’s Patient Safety Committee.
