Occupational Health Ergonomic Services
Winona Health’s Occupational Health team provides ergonomic assessments in office and industrial settings to help prevent workplace injuries and assist workers in returning to work after an injury-related leave.
Functional capacity evaluations
A Functional capacity evaluation is a comprehensive, performance-based measure of a worker’s ability to meet job-specific or general physical requirements. It provides objective and reliable data on a worker’s capacity to safely complete work tasks. This type of assessment is usually completed following a workplace injury or as an indicator for short-or long-term compensation (like disability benefits or Social Security Administration [SSA] benefits). Evaluation can be completed in 3 to 4 hours.
Onsite injury evaluations
Onsite injury evaluations can be conducted during weekly, bi-weekly or monthly visits to your organization with set appointments for workers to discuss injuries or conditions that have been bothering them at work. We’ll provide injury management rehabilitation and stretching instructions to decrease the number of offsite medical visits for your workers and minimize expenses that are associated with injuries in the workplace.
Onsite ergonomic assessments
During onsite ergonomic assessments we observe workspaces to evaluate ergonomic risk factors that may contribute to increased overuse injuries. We can target specific “hot spots” where acute or overuse conditions are seen more frequently and provide suggestions for modifications.
