Welcome Kenneth Johnson, MD, Orthopedic Specialist!

Kenneth Johnson, MD

Board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon, Kenneth Johnson, MD, joined the team in Winona Health’s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine department. In addition to general orthopedic surgery, Dr. Johnson has expertise in shoulder, hip and knee replacement including hip and knee revision surgery.

Dr. Johnson has been an orthopedic specialist for nearly 30 years and was previously with Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, Minnesota. He earned his medical degree and completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.

“I heard good things about Winona Health and learned about an opportunity here,” said Dr. Johnson. “I was impressed by what I found when I interviewed, and I like that Winona Health is a community hospital.”

Dr. Johnson said that the most satisfying part of being an orthopedic surgeon is “when people who are hurting come in to see me and I can make it possible for them to get back to the activities they enjoy. In orthopedics, we can make a big change in someone’s activities and lifestyle.”

In his free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys listening to music at home and going to as many concerts as he can. He is looking forward to Winona’s music festivals. He also is an avid reader and likes reading series by authors such as James Patterson and Patricia Cornwall interspersed with the classics.
