HealthyFit for Life is a six-week program to help people lose weight and keep it off. Many people know “what to do” to lose weight, but have a hard time “doing it.” HealthyFit for Life is not just about changing what you do, but ultimately changing how you think about living a healthier life.

The next HealthyFit for Life program begins May 14 and meets Mondays from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. through June 25 (no meeting on Memorial Day, May 28) on the second floor of the Parkview Office Building at Winona Health, 855 Mankato Ave. in Winona. HealthyFit for Life is a six-week program to help people lose weight and keep it off.  Many people know “what to do” to lose weight, but have a hard time “doing it.” That’s because losing weight and keeping it off involves more than eating your veggies and ditching the sweets. It’s not just changing what you do, but ultimately changing how you think about living a healthier life. Occasional assignments require time to complete independently. For best results, participants should allow 30 to 60 minutes per week outside of class time.

The next HealthyFit for Life program begins January 10 and meets Wednesdays from 9 to 10 a.m. through February 14 on the second floor of the Parkview Office Building at Winona Health, 855 Mankato Ave. in Winona. The program costs $90, class size is limited and registration is required.

Winona Health offers special programs to help those who are interested in healthy weight loss: HealthyFit: Living Your Best Life and HealthyFit: Adult Weight Management.

Winona Health’s HealthyFit: Living Your Best Life is a six-week program to help people lose weight and keep it off. Occasional assignments require time to complete independently. For best results, participants should allow 30 to 60 minutes per week outside of class time.

The next HealthyFit: Living Your Best Life session begins November 6 and meets Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. through December 11. The program costs $90 and registration is required by Wednesday, November 1.

HealthyFit: Adult Weight Management is a 12-week program for those who want to lose a little or a lot—or just want to develop a healthier lifestyle. The program is led by a Winona Health dietitian and features information from exercise specialists and behavioral health coaches to help people with all aspects of weight management.

The next HealthyFit: Adult Weight Management program begins November 7 and meets Tuesdays from noon to 1 p.m. through January 30, 2018. There will be no class the week of Christmas. Cost for the 12-week program is $175 and is nonrefundable. Financial assistance is available to those who meet specific criteria. The cost includes an instructional guide, and participants who complete the program may attend monthly HealthyFit Alumni weigh-in and discussion sessions for ongoing support.

Whether you want to lose a little or a lot—or you just want to develop a healthier lifestyle, Winona Health’s HealthyFit Adult Weight-Management 12-week program can help.

The next program begins November 7 and meets Tuesdays from noon to 1 p.m. through January 30, 2018. There will be no class the week of Christmas.

The program is led by Theresa Hoyles, a Winona Health registered dietitian, and features information from exercise specialists and behavioral health coaches to help people with all aspects of weight management.

“This can be a busy time of year, but it’s a great time of year to consciously prevent weight gain – and possibly even get a jump on what many people resolve to do beginning January 1. Why wait?” said Hoyles.

Topics covered include effective goal setting and problem solving, label reading and grocery shopping, handling setbacks and maintaining your weight loss. Participants can track their progress through weekly weigh-ins, and a pre-and post-program body composition analysis. Previous participants have improved weight-related health problems, improved energy levels and gained self-confidence.

Class size is limited. Cost of this 12-week program is $175 and is non-refundable. Financial assistance is available to those who meet specific criteria. The cost includes an instructional guide, and participants who complete the program may attend monthly HealthyFit Alumni weigh-in and discussion sessions for ongoing support.

New HealthyFit: Living Your Best Life program supports weight-loss efforts

Many people know “what to do” to lose weight, but have a hard time “doing it.” That’s because losing weight and keeping it off involves more than eating your veggies and ditching the sweets. It’s not just changing what you do, but ultimately changing how you think about living a healthier life.

Winona Health’s HealthyFit: Living Your Best Life is a new six-week program to help people lose weight and keep it off. The first HealthyFit: Living Your Best Life session begins Wednesday, September 13.

Participants will:

  • Define what it means to live their best life.
  • Establish goals to attain their best life.
  • Develop a personal wellness plan to include proper nutrition, movement, relaxation and sleep.
  • Create strategies to get around road-blocks and set-backs.
  • Develop a strong mindset supportive of lasting health behaviors.

Occasional assignments require time to complete independently. For best results, participants should allow 30 to 60 minutes per week outside of class time.

Please note that basic nutrition and exercise principles will not be taught in this program. This program is appropriate for those who have a lot of knowledge about how to properly lose weight, but are having a difficult time doing it. It is perfect for graduates of Winona Health’s HealthyFit: Adult Weight Management program who want additional support while continuing to lose weight. Those interested in basic nutrition and exercise principles should ask about the HealthyFit: Adult Weight Management program.

The first HealthyFit: Living Your Best Life program begins Wednesday, September 13 from 9 to 10 a.m. The cost for the six-week program is $90.

The next HealthyFit: Adult Weight Management program, which focuses on weight loss education, begins Wednesday, September 13 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost for that 12-week program is $175.

Both programs meet in the Wellness Conference Room on the 2nd floor of the Parkview Office Building at Winona Health, 855 Mankato Ave. in Winona.

New Best Life Coaching helps you achieve personal goals

Best Life Coaching, a new service offered through Winona Heath Wellness Services is a one-on-one program to help people define and achieve their personal goals.

“Best Life Coaching is for anyone who would like help working toward a goal they’ve been struggling with,” said Tina Smith, a certified wellness coach. “Whether it’s finding ways to deal with stress, losing weight and keeping it off, or identifying what you really want in life and achieving it, this program provides the tools and personalized attention to break through the barriers to success.”

Smith is a Certified Wellness Coach who has a Master’s Degree in Public Health. With 25 years of coaching and teaching experience, her passion is to help others remove the barriers that are keeping them from living their very best life.

Best Life Coaching helps people:

  • Envision and define the life they really want to live.
  • Create a holistic plan to achieve those goals.
  • Learn how to remove the barriers to success.
  • Develop life-long skills to maintain new habits.
