Winona Health is offering a special one-day seminar: End of Life Nursing Education, Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Hoff Funeral Home at 3480 Service Drive in Goodview, Minn.

The seminar is geared toward end-of-life professionals such as nurses and social workers, however, other caregivers are welcome and those who have attended in the past have found it to be beneficial.

Presenters cover topics from the End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) curriculum.

Topics include:
• Palliative care nursing
• Communication
• Grief and bereavement
• Pain and symptom management
• Cultural and ethical considerations
• The final hours

Presenters are certified ELNEC trainers, Nikki Kimmerle, RN; Marybeth Polus, RN; Sheila Skeels, LSW; and Maureen Gerson, RN, DNP.

This one-day seminar is free, and a complimentary lunch will be provided. Participants who complete the training will qualify for 9 nursing contact hours.
