Need help finding a primary care provider?

Have you ever been concerned about a health issue like a sore throat or earache, a stomach issue or a “funny feeling” that has you wondering if something is wrong? Not knowing what to do, where to go or who to call can make things even more stressful. Having a primary care provider can take away that stress and help you find answers – and relief – faster.

It’s also important to be proactive about your health. Preventive care visits with your primary care provider will help you maintain your health. Preventive care visits keep you on track and serve as an early warning system so you can take steps to head off potential health conditions early, before they become serious and negatively impact your life.

Your primary care provider (sometimes referred to as a PCP or general practitioner) is your go-to person to help you stay on track with preventive care and health screenings and whenever you’re hurt, not feeling well or have concerns related to your physical or mental health.

Primary care providers may be doctors, nurse practitioners or physician assistants. They may be in family practice, internal medicine or pediatric and adolescent medicine.

Your primary care provider is someone you can trust and talk to comfortably about anything, no matter your age or stage in life.

  • Recommending and helping you schedule health screenings depending on things like your age, gender and family health history, so you can address them before they become serious.
  • Finding answers and taking care of you when you’re not feeling well physically or mentally.
  • Connecting you with other resources when you need additional care or a specialist for a specific concern.
  • You’re treated with respect.
  • You’re not being judged.
  • You’re being listened to.
  • Your questions are welcomed.
  • You’re getting information that you can understand.

If your first choice doesn’t feel right, choose someone else (Find a Provider) for your next appointment. It’s your decision!

Accountable Care Organization

Winona Health is participating in an Accountable Care Organization (ACO). An ACO is a group of doctors, hospitals, and/or other healthcare providers that work together to better care for you. Coordinated care helps to ensure that you get the right care at the right time and avoid getting the same services repeated unnecessarily. We are required to notify you of our participation in the ACO.

  • Our participation in an ACO does not limit your choice of healthcare providers.
  • Your Medicare benefits will not change.
  • You have the right to visit any doctor, hospital, or other provider that accepts Medicare at any time, just like you do now.

We appreciate the trust you put in us and look forward to providing healthcare for you.
