We really appreciate the efforts our community and patients have made by staying home to help contain the spread of COVID-19. We know that this saved lives.

While we kept providing great care for urgent conditions during the shelter-in-place order, we are now back operating our full clinic and operating room schedules. We at Winona Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine are here to serve your bone and joint health needs. You will notice a few changes when you come in for an appointment to keep you and our staff safe while we continue to provide the best possible care.

Some of the safety measures we have in place at Winona Health include having everyone, including patients, wear masks. Please bring and wear your cloth face covering if you have one. If you don’t have one yet, we can provide one. Screeners are checking symptoms and temperatures of all staff and visitors who enter Winona Health. We’ve also put even more rigorous cleaning processes in place so all surfaces in the clinic are sanitized frequently and thoroughly.

In addition to these standard workplace precautions, we are making a special effort to keep our orthopedic surgeries as safe as possible. All patients are being COVID-19 tested prior to surgery to make sure we keep all procedures as safe as possible for our community during this time. We are ready to help serve all your healthcare needs, including your musculoskeletal health.

I spent some of my additional time during shelter-in-place completing online training to stay up-to-date and current with cutting-edge surgical techniques. I know this will benefit my patients and lead to even better outcomes for our patients at Winona Health.

I hope these thoughts ease any concerns about seeking medical care during this time. Left unattended, some health problems can get worse, and early diagnosis and treatment can lead to better outcomes. Don’t delay. We hope to see you soon!
