A lake winona manor resident receives a mini christmas tree thanks the therapeutic recreation staff and a gift from ucare.

Lake Winona Manor staff are ensuring that the holidays include comfort and joy for each resident. Thanks to a gift from UCare, an independent, non-profit healthcare company, Lake Winona Manor’s Therapeutic Recreation staff gave mini, battery-lit Christmas trees to each resident to add a little holiday sparkle to their rooms. On Christmas Eve, staff will deliver gifts from the Giving Tree along with taking a Happy Hour cart with Grinch punch, meatballs, Chex mix and cake bites door-to-door. Christmas day dinner will feature cranberry pork roast with potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry fluff salad and peppermint cheesecake. “The holidays are a little more challenging for everyone this year,” said Amanda Ciszak, Lake Winona Manor director of nursing. “Our staff always does extra to ensure the holidays are special for our residents, and they were up for the challenges this year presented. Although not the same as having Lake Winona Manor full of family and friends, we’re doing what we can to make the holidays meaningful.” To learn more about Winona Health’s Lake Winona Manor, visit www.winonahealth.org or call 507.457.4366.
