On the Friday after Thanksgiving, when I went to pay for my lunch at our Lakeside Cafe, I learned that one of our providers had paid for my lunch! In fact, they paid for everyone’s lunch during that noon hour. I asked who it was so I could be sure to thank them, but the cashier said that they wished to remain anonymous. I just thought – wow, what a nice, thoughtful gesture…this person may or may not even know me but here I am experiencing their kindness. This made me reflect on how many nice people I get to work with every day. Everyone is always helping each other out. Whether it’s assisting with a task, sharing a kind word, a smile, a thank you, or in this case, a surprise free lunch! What it comes down to is caring about and for each other – and taking care of each other is what we do at Winona Health. I wish I could thank whichever one of our wonderful providers surprised several of us by treating us to lunch that day. Their generosity and thoughtfulness was appreciated! — Kris Walters
