Hwy. 43 at Winona remains closed because of flooding from broken water main

Mankato Road Construction 071322 Web A city of Winona water main broke on Tuesday night near the Sinclair gas station. The road was closed because of the flooding and damage to the road where the public has been driving. Crews expect to re-open Hwy 43/Mankato Ave. to traffic later Wednesday afternoon. City of Winona crews are working to cap the the pipe and will be working through the afternoon to repair the break. MnDOT and its contractor, Hoffman, will move in to assess the damage and make any needed repairs to prepare for traffic later today. Traffic on Hwy 43/Mankato Ave. is currently closed between Frontenac and Hwy 61. Motorists can reach destinations on each side of Hwy 43 by turning at Frontenac or Parks.
