Winona Adult Literacy, a WAPS Community Education program, offers educational opportunities to adults in our area. Services include English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, GED preparation classes, basic skills preparation, reading, math, college prep, career training, computers, and citizenship.
Volunteers
Working with a teacher in a class, or working with students individually or in small groups, volunteers assist adult learners to achieve their educational goals. There are opportunities with GED classes/students and ESL classes/students. Criminal background check is required and is provided free of charge to the volunteer. Requirements
- Patience (basic academic knowledge in one or more of the following areas: English, math, science, and social studies)
- Flexibility
