Congratulations Samantha Koehler, Lake Winona Manor, for being honored as a Winona Health HERO!

“Samantha was a tremendous help during my mother’s stay at the Manor. Mom resided there for about 3 years. She had Parkinson’s, with very high anxiety and dementia in her last year. Samantha was always reachable and had time to discuss the next steps or suggest new ways to treat what was going on. She brought in other providers to offer my Mom comfort and consistently followed through on her promises and actions. Sometimes, she even sat with Mom just to provide companionship and ensure she wouldn’t be alone. I know this took time away from her busy day, but she never stopped prioritizing my mom’s needs. She embodies the true essence of a nurse in every sense of the word. I never saw her rush or become unapproachable to residents or her staff. Everyone should be grateful to have a person like her in their life – warm, caring, and respectful to all. Thank you, Sam, for being yourself. It meant a lot to Mom and me.”
