The respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine for adults is available at Winona Health. RSV is a common respiratory virus that most people recover from in a week or two, but for some people, including older adults and those who have chronic health conditions, RSV can be serious and lead to hospitalization. Those who would like to discuss the vaccine with their primary care provider should schedule an appointment. Established Winona Health patients may choose to send a message to their provider through their My Winona Health patient portal. Adults ages 65+ covered by Medicare may get the RSV vaccine at the Winona Clinic Pharmacy. Adults ages 60-65 and those who are 65+ covered by commercial insurance can get the RSV vaccine at Winona Health Family Medicine and Internal Medicine. If they have already decided to get the vaccine and do not wish to discuss with their primary care provider, they may walk in for the vaccine and check in at the registration desk on the Winona Health clinic second floor. To schedule an appointment to discuss the vaccine with your primary care provider at Winona Health, call 507.454.3650. More information about RSV, including prevention, symptoms and transmission, is available online at CDC.gov by searching RSV. Learn about Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection (RSV).
