Madeline Rueb, PA-C, has joined Winona Health and will work with Hans Serleth, MD, and the Plastic, Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery team.
“I enjoy the variety of work being a surgical PA involves – from meeting patients, educating them about their procedure and helping to ensure all their questions are answered, to assisting in the OR and follow up care,” said Rueb. “One of the things I find rewarding is working with people who are pursing breast reconstruction after cancer treatment. That’s really a special opportunity to make a difference in their lives.”
Rueb also said it’s important to her to make patients feel comfortable sharing everything that they want to share and asking as many questions as they’d like. “I want every person to have the information they want and need before, during and after their procedure.”
Prior to joining Winona Health, Rueb was caring for patients in the Department of Neurology at Saint Louis University Hospital in Missouri. She was also a volunteer with the Medical Reserve Corps in Missouri and in Minnesota.
Rueb received her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion before earning her degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. Her clinical rotation included General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
In her free time, Rueb enjoys camping, fishing, hiking and finding places with a good view. She also likes to crochet. She and her husband, Eric, are looking forward to exploring the area. They share their home with Ned, a 13-year-old lab and shepherd mix.
