General Surgeon Colin Kennedy, MD, and other Winona Health caregivers were digging pink with the Cochrane-Fountain City Volley Ball team and fans on Tuesday, October 8.
“It was great to cheer on the volleyball team, connect with community members on a personal level and provide information about the importance of cancer screening,” said Angie Johannes, director of Surgical and Specialty Care.
During the event, CFC volleyball fans had a chance to talk with Dr. Kennedy and other Winona Health caregivers to get answers to their questions about risk factors and screening along with the importance of screening for other types of cancer.
Angie noted that October is breast cancer awareness month, but it’s important to think about health screenings throughout the year. “We can get people in for screenings pretty quickly. They shouldn’t have a long wait to receive this care and get their results.”
