“To paraphrase from our manifesto… At Winona Health, care means never wavering from a passion not just to serve, but to create something better…to pursue excellence in every touchpoint with our patients, our community and each other. It’s in that spirit that we’ve added a new role at Winona Health.” said Rebecca Lamberty, chief administration officer.
Katrice Sisson, who was with Winona Health from January 2020 to January 2024, first as community relations specialist then manager of community and donor relations, returns to Winona Health in the new role of business development strategist.
In her new role, Sisson will focus on community partnerships, connecting with area individuals, businesses and organizations to learn about their challenges related to health and wellness and identifying opportunities for developing programs and services to better meet their needs.
“This is a wonderful community and it’s even more so when we all work together. I’m looking forward to developing and strengthening our partnerships,” said Sisson. “I’m open to ideas, requests and feedback, and I welcome the opportunity to listen and collaborate.”
Emphasizing the importance of collaboration, building a stronger community and ensuring the future of the services we need and value, Sisson said, “One of my priorities is to help Winona Health gain deeper insight into healthcare needs from a variety of perspectives. We all want access to good jobs, strong businesses, high-quality education, vital community services and outstanding healthcare when and where we need it. Our community is best served when decisions about local services are made right here in Winona. That’s what happens at Winona Health, and we’re committed to understanding multiple perspectives and using whatever resources we have to best serve Winona and surrounding communities.”
Locally owned businesses and community-based organizations like Winona Health are a vital part of the area’s economy. Sisson noted that when people choose Winona Health, they are choosing to keep their dollars in the community to be recirculated, which supports local businesses and organizations.
“Our goal is to give every community member the care they want and need right here at Winona Health,” said Sisson. “Having lived in other places around the US, I know first-hand that the compassion and quality of care at Winona Health outshines any place I’ve experienced, but without that perspective, it might be easy to take what we have here for granted.”
Sisson earned a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Cloud State University. She has been working with healthcare-focused nonprofit organizations since 2009 and has been appointed to several national advisory councils. Sisson serves on the Winona Area Nonprofit Alliance leadership team and Minnesota State College Southeast Foundation board. She is a member of the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee and has previously served the Chamber as a board member and board chair.
