Winona Health School-Based Health Clinics will be hosting immunization days at on Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, May 13 at the Winona Middle School and Winona Senior High School.

Appointments are open to any student enrolled in the schools that have onsite clinics. Insurance is accepted, and costs are the same as a regular clinic visit.

What services are available at the onsite clinics?

Winona Health School-Based Health Clinics will provide the following care:

  • Physicals; routine physicals and health screenings, sports physicals.
  • Well child exams.
  • Immunizations including: Flu, Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap), Meningitis, and others.
  • Treatment of minor illness and injury; this includes flu and cold symptoms, infections, earaches, sore throat, cuts, rashes, menstrual problems, birth control options and counseling.
  • Medication follow-up for ADHD, anxiety, depression and other mental health diagnoses.
  • Mental health support, early intervention, treatment and referrals for common issues like depression, anxiety, stress, family and relationship issues, academic issues, and planning for the future.

Can my child receive healthcare services at the school-based health clinics without my consent?
Students under the age of 18 cannot be treated for health-related services without parental/guardian consent. Minnesota law, however, allows a minor to seek medical treatment under certain circumstances without parental consent. This includes emergency mental health care, pregnancy testing and counseling, contraceptive exams and prescriptions, and sexually transmitted disease diagnosis, treatment and education.

In all cases, students are strongly encouraged to discuss confidential service issues with their parents or guardians.

Clinic registration and consent forms are available at the clinics and are needed for all non-confidential services.
With a consent form signed in advance, your child can be seen at the onsite clinic with or without you being physically present.
