Board-certified diagnostic radiologist, Scott Lewis, MD, joins the Diagnostic Radiology team at Winona Health.
Dr. Lewis grew up in Wyoming, but has strong family connections to this region, with roots in Wisconsin and Minnesota. He comes to Winona with many years of experience in community-based care. Dr. Lewis was first inspired to pursue radiology as an undergraduate when he saw CT images revealing the inside of the body. “It fascinated me that you could look at organs and structures without even touching the patient,” he recalls. He went on to complete a fellowship in body imaging, with special expertise in abdominal and pelvic MRI.
Passionate about the variety radiology offers, Dr. Lewis enjoys collaborating with physicians across many specialties to help provide answers and guide patient care. “Quality has to be a lifestyle for a physician,” he says. “I often think, if this were my mom, my grandma, or even me—what would I recommend? That mindset keeps me grounded and focused on producing accurate images, interpreting them carefully, and delivering results quickly so patients and their care teams can move forward with confidence.”
Dr. Lewis is certified by the American Board of Radiology. He earned his medical degree from University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. He completed a fellowship in Body Imaging at the University of California, Davis Medical Center. He is a member of the American Roentgen Ray Society, which is the first and oldest radiology society in the United States, the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, and the Society of Abdominal Radiology.
In his free time, Dr. Lewis enjoys mountain biking, running, hunting, and fishing. He and his family live in the Denver area, and he looks forward to exploring the trails and outdoor opportunities in Winona.
