Ryan Bartol, PA-C, joins Emergency Department

July 23, 2026

Certified Physician Assistant Ryan Bartol, PA-C, has joined the caregivers in the Emergency Department at Winona Health.

“It’s satisfying as a provider to be able to see an acute condition, treat it and hopefully see your patient improve and feel better–sometimes pretty quickly,” Bartol said. “Unfortunately, you’re not going to be able to make everybody feel better instantly. I let all of my patients know I am there to care for them.”

Bartol is originally from Berlin, Wisconsin. He earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He holds certifications as a Physician Assistant, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS).

“I walk in with an open mind, listen to patients, show that I care and take the time to make them feel heard and their needs are being met,” Bartol said.

Bartol’s decision to join Winona Health was influenced in part by a professor who works in Winona Health’s Emergency Department and spoke highly of the collaborative, meaningful work happening there.

“I’m excited to build relationships with people and get to know them,” Bartol said. “We spend a lot of time working together and having strong relationships with coworkers benefits us and our patients as well.”

Outside of work, Bartol enjoys hiking, fishing and staying active.

Winona Health has a 24-hour Emergency Department staffed by dedicated physicians, associate providers, registered nurses and support staff. Specialty physicians are on-call, responding at the request of the emergency care staff. Patients of all ages are welcome, ensuring everyone has access to the care they need.
