Shoulder surgery: Expert team makes it all worth it. Larry’s story.

October 22, 2018

My shoulder pain was keeping me up at night, and even simple things, like getting a cup out of the cupboard, were painful. After giving Physical Therapy a try through the VA, I was still having a lot of pain. Then my primary physician, Dr. Modjeski, referred me to Dr. Millis at Winona Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. After talking to Dr. Millis, I had a lot of trust in him and confidence in his ability; he explains everything so it makes sense. Dr. Millis found that I had a torn rotator cuff, and I decided to go ahead with surgery. It’s the best decision I ever made. After surgery, I was able to do physical therapy at the Rushford Clinic. That was a big plus, and Diane Montgomery, my physical therapist, was great. I trusted Dr. Millis and Diane completely. It felt like we were a team and Diane was the coach. I can’t say enough about Diane. If she tells me not to do something, I don’t do it! My shoulder feels great. It’s amazing. It’s a long process from surgery to recovery—healing takes time and you can’t rush it—but it’s so worth it. Larry, Rushford
