After beginning my career in education, I saw a desperate need for mental health resources for school-aged children and their families. Addressing issues affecting children early leads to better outcomes long term. My approach to care is to get to know each person as the individual they are. I know that what might work for one will not work for all. When working with children, I use tools like crafts, puzzles, play – things that help the child express themselves more effectively. I want my office to be a place they feel welcomed and want to visit. It’s rewarding to hear from parents that we’re making progress.
