Behavioral Health & Counseling Services

Winona Health offers both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and counseling services.

Inpatient Psychiatric and Counseling Services: Department of Behavioral Medicine

Winona Health includes an 8-bed inpatient unit known as the Department of Behavioral Medicine. This unit offers special programs for those suffering from chemical dependency, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, schizophrenia and psychosis.

Outpatient Services:
Winona Health Psychiatric and Counseling Services

Winona Health Psychiatric & Counseling Services offers a comprehensive array of outpatient services:

  • Mental health counseling
  • Psychiatric and psychological evaluations
  • Medication management
  • Parenting concerns
  • Geriatric counseling
  • Telepsychiatry services
Telepsychiatry Services Now Available

Winona Health now offers telepsychiatry services to expand access to mental health expertise. Telepsychiatry is behavioral health care delivered through a video system in a secure, private place and has proved to be as effective as in-person services, with the only difference being that the provider is not in the same room. The visit has the feel of a Skype or Facetime visit, but through a more secure communication network.

The Winona Health Psychiatric and Counseling staff includes psychiatrists, licensed counselors, therapists and support staff.
