I enjoy the variety of work being a surgical PA involves – from meeting patients, educating them about their procedure and helping to ensure all their questions are answered, to assisting in the OR and follow up care. It’s important to make patients feel comfortable sharing everything that they want to share and asking as many questions as they’d like. My goal is for every person to have the information they want and need before, during and after their procedure. One of the things I find especially rewarding is working with women who are pursuing breast reconstruction after cancer treatment. I find that to be a special opportunity to make a difference in their lives.
