Need help navigating insurance questions?
Winona Health’s business office and cashier staff provide a free service to help patients who have questions regarding insurance coverage, insurance benefits and questions related to healthcare costs.
Our staff understand that it takes a lot of work—and sometimes worry—to manage health issues and medical bills. Our Patient Resource Center alleviates some of that worry by helping you navigate your insurance coverage and options for connecting with other community resources.
We’ll help you with such things as:
- Understanding Medicare and the options for adding drug coverage insurance.
- Understanding COBRA during unemployment.
- Coordinating insurance coverage after switching plans.
Terms such as deductibles, copayments, co-insurance, medically necessary, preventive, and diagnostic may be confusing. Understanding these terms and how they impact the portion of healthcare services that your insurance covers versus what you are responsible for paying is important. We are intimately familiar with how this all works and we are available to help you work through these details with your insurance plan.
The Patient Resource Center is another way Winona Health demonstrates its commitment to providing community-focused care. It’s an additional resource for people who want help understanding how to navigate the insurance and payment side of healthcare.
Our Patient Resource Center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and is accessible through the cashier door on the clinic first floor at 855 Mankato Avenue in Winona. We serve on a walk-in basis, and these services are free to Winona area community members, regardless of where they receive care.
