Right there with me

I elected to get care at Winona health because I had multiple friends recommend Katie Duerr [certified nurse midwife]. Every appointment has been wonderful.

My situation was a bit complicated, and I went through my pregnancy without a partner. At every appointment, Katie was very supportive of me and my baby and was always checking in on me and my situation.

Katie [Mosier] was also very supportive and helpful at my appointments. I was very lucky that I had them both throughout my journey. I never felt judged due to my situation, and they offered many outlets to help me navigate motherhood and pregnancy. Even after everything, they are the women I’d hug on the street hahaha. Even reception was wonderful and welcoming!

During my labor, Katie [Duerr] was right there with me. I didn’t even have to ask her to do anything. She was already running me a bath, getting me essential oils, rubbing pressure points on my back during contractions and getting me a ball to help with movement. She cheered me on nonstop through my labor. It was very empowering to have her there being my cheerleader and reminding me how strong I am.

The birth center and all of the nurses who helped me were OUTSTANDING! My baby, Elaine, and I were in and out on multiple occasions and the nurses were phenomenal. So friendly, so helpful, so welcoming. I felt right at home and comfortable asking them anything.

Savanna was right there walking me through my first steps of motherhood. Mollie was always so positive and upbeat and did amazing with all of my family’s requests. Michelle was keeping my spirits up through the night and so was the aid. Everyone from start to finish made my entire experience so positive, and I can’t wait to do it all again.
