Obstetrician Gynecologist Juan C. Angelats, MD, has joined the caregivers at Winona Health and is now seeing patients in Women’s Health.
Angelats provides trusted care for women during pregnancy, labor, delivery and post-partum care as well as a wide range of routine gynecological care, ensuring support through every phase. “I’m passionate about working with each patient to find the treatment that’s right for them. I share my professional recommendations, but I also respect that patients know themselves best. Together, we explore all options and make decisions that honor each person’s preferences while ensuring safe, effective care.”
“Everything starts with communication,” said Angelats. “When patients come to see me, my first priority is listening to their story—really listening, without interrupting—and gathering the information I need to understand what’s happening. Then we review my assessment together and discuss the next steps. I want every patient to feel heard, have their questions answered, and leave confident in the plan. My approach is straightforward: listen carefully, explain clearly, and make sure patients feel informed and aligned on the path forward before they leave.”

Dr. Angelats is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago and completed his residency in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He is a member of and also completed his fellowship with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Angelats is able to build deeper connections with patients and is committed to ensuring language is never a barrier to exceptional healthcare in our community.
Angelats makes fitness a priority and enjoys working out, running, biking and playing tennis. He also enjoys watching and participating in sports.
