Thank you for keeping your eyes on the road to keep everyone safe. It takes many people with many different skills to make a huge project like this possible – and safer for all of us! Here are updates from MnDOT:
- Watch for short-term closures of Parks Ave north across from Frontenac Dr this weekend (Oct. 8-9) as Xcel Energy installs a gas line underground along the west side of Hwy 43/Mankato Ave. At times, crews will need to close the access at Park Ave north. Motorists will be able to access Winona Health and other properties located on the west side by using other access roads to the south. Crews will close the Parks Avenue north entrance when they are ready to pull the new 12-inch gas line into place.
- Southbound motorists will be able to take right turns at Riverbend Rd and Parks Ave south as well as Parks Ave access on Hwy 61 west near the Winona Family YMCA.
- Northbound motorists will need to use Parks Ave south to cross Hwy 43/Mankato Ave or use Parks Ave on Hwy 61 during the short-term closure. Parks Ave north will be open once the gas line installation work is complete.
- Remember that Riverbend Rd is closed to traffic on the east side of Hwy 43/Mankato Ave. The Riverbend Rd closure is estimated to last two weeks. Bruski Dr will close after Riverbend Rd reopens.
